THE HRT SOLUTION provides
all the information women need as they approach mid-life.
In an exceptionally reader-friendly tone, the authors describe
key hormones and their functions within the body - the
hormones we know affect a woman's bones and heart, her
brain, her immune system, her ability to cope with stress
and her aging process. Keeping these hormones at youthful,
pre-menopausal levels can quite literally change the way
a woman ages.
Liberally sprinkled with anecdotes
and case studies, this book is a must for every single
one of the 4,000 women entering menopause every day.
Superb!" says Dr.
Christiane Northrup, author of Womens Bodies, Womens
Wisdom and several other definitive books on womens
health. Dr. Northrup adds, "It should be the bible of
hormone replacement for any woman who is on hormones
or considering taking them."
Excerpt from the book:
Women over 40 often mark the
passage of time in ways not shared by the general population.
An ache. A pain. A hot flash. A sleepless night. As time
marches on, fatigue, forgetfulness, mood swings, all sorts
of unpleasant symptoms are added to the list. And pretty
soon, many women are faced with the three little words
that spark heated debates in and out of medical circles:
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
Every day, doctors do their
best to mitigate the discomfort of their menopausal patients
by prescribing hormones. Here, take one each day and you'll
feel fine. One size fits all. Enter John M. Kells and Marla
Ahlgrimm, RPh., authors of a new book that will, without
doubt, change women's lives. THE HRT SOLUTION: Optimizing
Your Hormone Potential (Avery Publishing, $9.95) presents
a revolutionary new process by which hormone levels are
assessed with a saliva hormone test and hormone replacement
therapy is prescribed on an INDIVIDUALIZED basis using
bio-identical substances. That is, it is now possible to
replace a woman's deficient hormones with exact non-synthetic
replicas, in amounts and combinations designed to suit
her individual needs.
Saliva testing has been used
for many years in medical schools and research facilities,
but its use in hormone testing is so new that many physicians
are not yet familiar enough with its proven accuracy to
incorporate it in their own practices. Yet this mode of
testing details the hormone levels in a woman's body, opening
up what the authors call the body's information superhighway,
enabling the design of a program that will allow women
to feel better, healthier, younger.
