are bioidentical hormones?
Since the release of Suzanne Somer's book " The Sexy
Years", everyone wants to know what are bioidentical
hormones. Suzanne Somers has given a voice to a generation
of women that have been made to feel ostracized and marginalized
by the medical industry. We should all applaud Suzanne Somer's
book, " The Sexy Years" for bringing this subject
to the frontline of discussions.
What's the difference between Bioidentical and Synthetic
Hormones?
Unlike synthetic hormones, which
the drug companies purposely make different in order to patent
the drugs, (such as PremPro, Provera, and Premarin) are all
examples of synthetic hormones.
But, bioidentical hormones have the same molecular structure
as the hormones (progesterone,
estrogen, DHEA) that your own body creates.
Bioidentical hormones are not patentable, but much safer
for your body. Because most physicians are not given much
education on bioidentical hormones and
natural bioidentical hormone replacement therapies, most
physicians prescribe what drug companies tell them to.
HRT or hormone replacement therapy for decades has been a
one-size-fits-all type of therapy, with many doctors unaware
of natural alternatives such as bioidentical hormones like

Which is better? bioidentical hormones or synthetic
hormones?
Bioidentical hormones are much better for you than synthetic

- 7 more will have a heart attack or other coronary event
- 8 more will have a stroke
- 8 more will have blood clots in the lungs
After careful consideration of the data, NIH has concluded that with an average of nearly 7 years of follow-up completed, estrogen alone does not appear to affect (either increase or decrease) heart disease, a key question of the study. At the same time, estrogen alone appears to increase the risk of stroke and decrease the risk of hip fracture. It has not increased the risk of breast cancer during the time period of the study."
What should you do now?
